Amy Z. Duncan
Amy has over 14 years of healthcare consulting experience with Ernst & Young, Accenture and now Collaborative Data, Inc. She's worked on both the payer and provider side, gaining a deep understanding of claims processing, patient accounting and reimbursement processes as well as knowledge of the underlying IT structure of each.
While at Ernst & Young, Amy co-developed their Medicare Bad Debt service line methodology. She also transformed that process into a data-centric, automated solution. Over the years, she has assisted clients with filing, reopening and amending hundreds of cost report years.
In July 2009, Amy became a small business owner by forming Collaborative Data, Inc. and continues to provide patient accounting and reimbursement services to healthcare clients.
Amy earned her Bachelor of Science from the University of Notre Dame and resides in Michigan with her husband, Brian, and their Goldendoodle, Big Bear.
Abby is CDI's Senior Engagement Manager and joined the team in 2009. She has specialized in Medicare Bad Debt exclusively since 2007 and brings very deep technical and reimbursement skills to the team.
In her prior experience, Abby was a technical reviewer on the Medicare Bad Debt team. She reviewed the raw data and results for Medicare Bad Debt engagements. She trained contractors on the automated model and developed data mining templates in Monarch. Over the years, Abby has also proven she can efficiently process data files of virtually any format and can also diagnose and resolve data integrity issues within large hospital datasets very quickly.
Abby is proficient in SQLServer, Access and Monarch and is also familiar with most packaged patient accounting systems. She has deep knowledge of provider billing and follow-up processes, including outside collection agency placements.
Abby earned her Bachelor of Science from Ball State University and currently lives in Indiana.
Julie is one of CDI’s Project Managers and joined the team in the second half of 2011. Julie has accrued 10 years of healthcare industry experience while working at AIM Healthcare, Inc., Ernst & Young and most recently Quadax, Inc. She worked on the provider side of the industry while at Ernst & Young and Quadax, focusing on both operational and reimbursement related process improvements.
During her time at Ernst & Young, Julie specialized in Medicare Bad Debt and Medicare DSH projects. She performed extensive data analytics to correctly identify allowable MDB and DSH amounts including the detailed testing of patient accounts. Julie also assisted in training members of the Medicare Bad Debt and DSH national teams.
Julie earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Ohio University and currently lives in Cleveland, OH with her husband and daughter.
Julie is a Consultant with CDI and is head of the Audit Support team. Julie works directly with clients to obtain requested audit documentation, which often includes onsite visits to various clients. She also communicates with the FIs/MACs to resolve any preliminary audit adjustments and then gathers additional information or documentation.
Julie’s role with CDI requires extensive organization, the ability to assist multiple clients at once, and great attention to detail. Her work ethic and commitment to complete any task in a timely manner is an asset to the team.
Julie earned her Bachelor of Science from Saginaw Valley State University and resides in Michigan.
